What Is Eczema?

People suffering from Atopic Dermatitis or Eczema, is a skin condition where the afflicted experiences intense itching in localized areas of the skin with marked flaking, dryness that extends to being already be painful and inflamed. Eczema is chronic; meaning it is long-lasting and it can rest with periods of dormancy but can flare up again at any time with or without triggers like irritants (soaps and shampoos, detergents), environment triggers like change in temperature, food or other allergens.

Normally dermatologists prescribe topical corticosteroids that is wrapped in wet gauze and topped with dry gauze to preserve the medication in the skin. Alongside that, oral medicines like antibiotics are given to prevent or cure infection and inflammation. Sometimes, for more advanced cases, a Phototherapy or the exposure of infected areas with bursts of UV Rays (natural sunlight).

These treatments are not without side effects. Excessive or prolonged use of corticosteroids increases the risk that it gets absorbed into the bloodstream and affect growth in kids or develop Cushing’s Syndrome that produces an overproduction of cortisol (stress hormone) that makes parts of the body deformed like having an exaggerated round face, big belly with thin limbs and legs, excessive bruising and development if stretch marks. Also, if these corticosteroids are used for a long period of time and the patient has weaned from it, it may cause a far worse skin condition than it was before the Eczema and is characterized by skin redness with a painful burning sensation brought about by the corticosteroid withdrawal. Phototherapy must never be done on children because it does promote premature aging, risk of infection, fevers, chills, angry skin lesions, painful burning sensation in the site area and may actually aggravate the current eczema. And of course, taking too much antibiotics can make bacteria resistant and the medicine will no longer cure.

CBD Cream For Eczema: The Good News!

CBD (Cannabidiol, also called cannabis or hemp) is the chemical component extracted from the Cannabis sativa plant (marijuana). It is the main ingredient in medical marijuana because it is not addictive and not harmful to the body and is devoid of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive component in marijuana that produces the feeling of ‘high’ or euphoria. Since raw marijuana is more readily available legally or illegally, people obtain it and burn it (smoke) to get the medical effects but the smoker unfortunately, develops a habit because of its addictive THC property.

The good news is that CBD Cream for Eczema can be a wise alternative treatment for Atopic Dermatitis. The body actually naturally produces our own endocannabinoids (endo, meaning: internal) and are found in the various organs and tissues like the muscles and brain. Endocannabinoids become more active when they are able to bond with a cannabinoid receptor. By using a product like a CBD Cream for Eczema, the body’s natural cannabinoids bond with the body’s natural cannabinoid receptors available everywhere in the body and one way to boost the body’s natural cannabinoid system is by the administration of phytocannabinoid (cannabinoids extracted from the Cannabis sativa) products like a CBD Cream for Eczema because the interaction of the phytocannabinoids with the endocannabinoid system of the body increases health benefits, and in this case, excellent pain relief and a marked reduction in inflammation brought about by eczema triggers with very insignificant or no side effects.
